Renault and Skin Care Giants build car !

Biotherm, the skin-care company in L’Oréal’s Luxury Products division, has joined forces with Renault to build a new electric car called the ZOE ZE. The roof of the urban run-around has been designed as an intelligent protective membrane that insulates against heat and cold, optimises climate control, and recovers energy using honeycomb photovoltaic cells. The car features a shield of polyurethane gel at the front and the back, acting as a second skin that protects vulnerable parts of the body in the event of impact. The air-con has been entirely designed to keep passengers skin hydrated. An electric system diffuses essential oils and active substances adapted to the needs of the driver, all developed by Biotherm. ZOE drivers can recharge their vehicles by using a standard charge, taking 4 to 8 hours, fast charge at special charge stations, or by battery exchange where owners swap their spent battery for a new one at exchange stations. The question remains - does it have a toilet??

Christchurch City Council decorates the city of Christchurch

Customlight Engineering has enjoyed working in with the Christchurch City Council this year. The project was to design and manufacture some new decorations for the central city. It's a huge task for every city at this time of the year with the project of bringing some Xmas flavour to the city streets. With over 70 new decorations now adorning poles and canopies we can certainly look forward to a bright Christmas thanks to our councils efforts to enhance the Christmas spirit - and to our guys in the workshop for doing such a great job....

Incredible Three Gorges Dam in China !!

As a social policy, the Three Gorges Dam is questionable -- more than 1 million people living near the Yangtze River will be forced to move as entire villages are submerged. As environmental policy, the project is similarly controversial -- it's critics argue that several rare species will be doomed - oh well. But based on engineering alone, the Three Gorges Dam is a stunning achievement. When it's completed in 2009, it will be the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. Its concrete wall -- stretching more than a mile across the Yangtze River and rising 600 feet above the valley floor -- will create a water reservoir of 1.39 trillion cubic feet. It's expected to produce one-ninth of China's power.

True Story......

While motorcycling through the Hungarian countryside, Cristo Falatti came up to a railway line just as the barriers were coming down. While he sat idling, a farmer with a goat, which the farmer tied to the barrier, joined him. A few moments later a horse and cart drew up behind Falatti, followed by a man in a sports car. When the train roared through the crossing, the horse startled and bit Falatti on the arm. Not a man to be trifled with, Falatti responded by punching the horse in the head. In consequence the horse's owner jumped down from his cart and began scuffling with the motorcyclist. The horse, which was not up to this sort of excitement, backed away briskly, smashing the cart into the sports car. At this, the sports-car driver leaped out of his car and joined the fray. The farmer came forward to try to pacify the three flailing men. As he did so, the crossing gates rose and his goat was strangled. At last report the insurance companies were still trying to sort out the claims.
